i was looking at ML, B&W, Theil, Vandersteen and KEF never heard of chane maybe simba can throw more insight .those who are serious about their watches display them prominently, those who are more concerned with style and branding present you with aircraft carriers and hide their watches. |

Banam:Auditions ante where can we hear them..?.. Asalu how to start anedhi ardam kavatam ledhu bro..
bestbuy lanti chotla chooodocchu. but the env. is not suitable. some of them have Magnolia areas with dedicated HT rooms. They have better equipment and quiter rooms to audition. Ila kaadu ante... start with few speaker brands like B&W, Theil, Kef, Paradigm, PSB, Monitor Audio etc. Look up their sites and find the local dealers. They ar usually like mom/pop stores. Walk into them with your listening material like CD or USB stick with chiru/bala songs . They would be more than willing to to show the speakers with right environment. These high-end brands will scare you on the price. For ex: $2k a piece MSRP speaker can be negotiated for $1.5k. I suggest you ask them for last year inventory, which can be scored for less than $1k a piece. These are several levels superior than run of the mill brands like Sony, Samsung, Vizio, Polk offered at bestbuy. Intha gola enduku ani anukunte, buy anything you like. From my experience, you cannot go wrong for 90% of the time on whatever you pick. Unless you have golden ear, you may not appreciate the extra quality. |

Rasputin:nenu choosthunna speakers max 100W anukuntaa. Boston Acoustics HSi 460
don't worry. bigger the power output, better to drive the speakers. Here is little run down: There is a decibel rating on the speaker, something like 89db, 91db etc at impedance 8 ohm, 6 ohm.. Receivers are rated 100w at 8 ohms, 140 at 6 ohms, 180 at 4 ohms etc. That means, based on the speaker's impedance (which is fixed at 8 or 6 or 4 ohms), receiver can output that wattage of power. That is ideal case. Most of the consumer receivers output far less when power is required in all channels. Depending on the movie we are watching, the required power varies across the channel over the scenes. If you are a real audiophile, you can get a dedicated AMP to augment the receiver. OTOH, it takes double the power output to play every 3 decibels (3db) for the speaker. That means, a 89db speaker plays at same volume with 90watt output from receiver as a 92db speaker playing with 30watt (90/3) output from receiver. So, lower the impedance and higher the decible rating on speaker needs lower output to drive from receiver. With all these variables, I will start with a set of speakers at 8 ohms (less power) and higher decible (90+ db). Then, even a 60watt/channel receiver can run the speakers very well. Damn, going to technical here. If anyone wants specifics, let me answer. |

good that you have pre-wiring done. I feel it is personal choice to pick out the equipment. You have to listen and like in person during audition. I don't like to start giving out suggestions. You do your homework and come up with something. I can give feedback or make few adjustments. |

Kings:What is your opinion on this yamaha receiver http://www.costco.com/.product.100313478.html
Yamaha TSR-5810 - 17.9lb first thing I look at a AV Receiver spec is the weight. This tiny 18 lb device cannot output rated power when required. The amps are too light weight. Any hardcore receiver weight upward of 30 lbs and more. Bells and whistles are features that change over the time. The AMP section is still traditional... heavier the amp, more potent it is. One way to address this is, get light weight, latest receiver and augment it with a dedicated amplifier. |

sonos is cool for family room set up dont expect true home theater performance good sound quality and software features way better than its wireless couterparts in multi room model configs my sonos config family room : playbar, sub, 2 sonos:1 for "5.1" effect sonos:1s for kitchen, fitness room, master bath etc...i move these to deck during summer evenings jilanis & jilebis time i like sonos walled system apple music ...did not hit off with me...i have been using spotify for a long time now until i get a true HT set up, I am more than satisfied with sonos as TI said they have only one model for each type of speaker they dont have any sale...just like apple will not have sale on its flagship iphone (Message edited by humpty_dumpty on October 26, 2016) |

Simba:if I am in his shoes, I do the opposite.
i agree about receiver vs speakers... in my opinion, projector is the wow factor in home theater setup..sound comes next..60-70% manam choose desi movies, netflix, most of the english blurays will be fine with 5.1/7.1 setup..chala movies blurays will not support 7.1 and very handful support dolby atmos..so vatiki upgrade chesukodaniki time vundi ani ala cheppanu. this is old and reliable brand, but they run "horn" tweeters. manam bestbuy lo choose max. speakers are "dome" tweeter and we are used to their sound. ee horn speakers koncham different (keech gonthu) anipistundi. Just my opinion. Listen to them and make sure you like them. fyi, they have built-in subwoofer. You have run LFE line, power supply to speakers. |

Simba:if I am in his shoes, I do the opposite. A/V receivers change so much over the years. if you are happy with what you have, good. If you want latest bells & whistles then upgrade every other year. OTOH, speakers tech. doesn't change at all. A 10 year old speaker is as good as new. I would spend money on quality speakers than ever changing receivers. As an analogy, spend money on lens than camera body.

Simba:GoldenEar makes great speakers. Some of their tower speakers have built-in subwoofer. If you choose to purchase them , apart from speaker wire, make sure you have LFE (subwoofer) cable run from receiver to speakers and power supply available by the speaker. If you purchase passive speakers (no built-in sub), then just a speaker wire is sufficient.
Thanks for your time mama...you provided awesome info....I will bug you if I need any info...please send a test message to my email mama: kingsccdb@gmail.com |

If your room is 15 ft wide ..you can try putting a fixed screen on 23ft side...trust me 15 ft is a good size in length...This way you can enjoy a 100 inch fixed screen and also open your windows when you need. |

I am using motorized screen for past 10 years. Not a single wave/fold developed. Agree that, since it is basement I don't open/close often. In my friend's case, a manual screen totally ripped after couple of years of pulling and pushing. OTOH, electric screens are wind/unwind with smooth and even force. |

Ilovemovies:yes..there will be waves after few years of usage..it depends on the quality of the screen...but you can replace screen (not entire electrical system setup) every few years to get rid of this issue and still enjoy windows and perfect screen. my advice..always go for big screen...wall to wall type lo...asalu taggaddu screen size lo matuku... 1. ekkada seating pettali anukontunnaro fix chesukondi 2. projector ekkada pettalo fix chesukondi 3. aa projector place nunchi screen size 130-140-150 type lo set chesukondi ivi ayyaka appudu screen material etc decide chesukondi..deal vachindi or tech cheppadu ani small screens ki velladdu...

Simba:Since it is a projector in living area, you need to blackout the windows. Any light coming thru windows will fade out the image. If that works for you, go with the max size between the windows. Motorized screen that pan over windows partially doesn't look good (WAF or aesthetics).

Kings:My question is if I use electric motor screen around (120 to 130 inch) will there be any waves on the screen and any little bit of folds on left and right side of the screen etc?
if the screen is not leaning against the blinds/curtains, you should be fine. In other words, when the screen is opened, it should be free standing. |

Cocanada:Change screen to opposite side put heavy weight curtains for the windows. cinema chusetappudu esko. view kavalanappudu teesko
If I change the screen other side it will be a entrance door. I have blinds and curtains to the windows, so if I put 120 or larger electric motor screen that will be fine...if I close blinds and curtains..room is 100% dark... My question is if I use electric motor screen around (120 to 130 inch) will there be any waves on the screen and any little bit of folds on left and right side of the screen etc? |

Otherwise, lake-view kaavaali, and cinema koodaa kaavaali ante.. day-time, sun-light lo projection system won't work, and it'll be a disruptive home-theater.. all the spending will be wasted... Just my cents

Jambalahaart_raja:Based on this calculcator.. 95" for 23 Feet seems appropriate
those numbers are for TVs. You can sit much closer in front of projector screen. |

Since it is a projector in living area, you need to blackout the windows. Any light coming thru windows will fade out the image. If that works for you, go with the max size between the windows. Motorized screen that pan over windows partially doesn't look good (WAF or aesthetics). |

Please tell me your views after reading below. My room size 15 feet wide and 23 feet length Room has 2 windows to the wall (15 feet wall) where I want to put the screen. Through the windows, we have a very beautiful view to a small lake and a forest preserve, we often see Deers, rabbits etc. I don't want to loose the view by putting a fixed screen. Between two windows I can put 95 inch (Diagonal) fixed screen, but I think this will become a small screen for 23 feet length room. If I want to have 120 inch screen, the only option is 'Electric Motorized Drop Down Projector Screen' But in reviews 70% reviews said it is a very good screen and remain said it is not good after a year they see waves in between and little bit of folds on left and right side of the screen etc My technician is recommending this screen, please suggest me which way to go https://www.amazon.com/Elite-Screens-Spectrum-100-inch-ELECT RIC100H/dp/B000Q87LM6/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1472659389&sr=8 -5&keywords=100%2Bprojector%2Bscreen&th=1 |
