Sachin:

cilic ki antha ledu bhayyaaa...emanna chesthe delpo ne cheyali..he is not scared of big 4.

True, but Norman-Wawrinka have shown that the right coach can bring great results even around 30yrs of age. He has the game, can he find the right coach to guide him around?

Sachin:

rest of field lo nakaithe thopula evadoo anipinchaledu....

That is true. It is unbelievable that no one younger than Djokovic won a masters since Djokovic won his first in 2007, (till Cilic won Cincinnati few months back)

Same for GS - Cilic, Delpotro only younger guys to do so!

Never has tennis had such a scarcity of youngsters making breakthrough....

Sachin:

kyrgios gurinchi discuss chesi time waste...vaadu monfils laga set avuthaaadu...

Kyrgios has more weapons than Monfils - serve is much more of a weapon - almost in the range of Fed/Sampras/Roddick. Also, he doesn't seem to keen on playing defense like Monfils - who wants to just keep fetching and fetchin without finishing points. He's supremely talented at sticking to the baseline and not giving it up (like Fed, Djokovic, Agassi).

Unfortunately he needs to get his head sorted out. Tennis will be such a loser if he doesn't win around 10 slams.

maa Stan kurrod inka 3-4 slams kotte chance undha ...finals lo 3-0 tho munduku elthunnadu and also world no 1 ki kodthadu bonus ga....edaina roju winbledon kodithe soodali ani undhi

To paraphrase Jim Courier " I don't think he can, but if you asked me at end of 2013, none of us would have thought he could have done what he did thus far" (this was after the USO win this year)

Having said that, I don't think Stan will win Wimbledon. It's very easy to make him uncomfortable on that surface - expose his weaker return, and not give him too much rhythm from the ground.

Super comparison! JMDP forehand, that backswing, wallop and then the follow through!

Very much like watching Lara/Sehwag when they are crushing it through the off-side!

As for JMDP's backhand - i think the injury was a blessing in disguise, coz he has developed a nice slice backhand and with players being one dimensional in their shot-making these days, that slice - if he can keep bettering it will help him tremendously - particularly on the faster surfaces - after Wimbledon....

holds true.. particularly with current slow conditions across the ATP world tour.. del Po had a solid back hand.. used to dictate even with on that wing.. ippudu adi ledu kada with one weak wrist.. turned a big liability.. ala ani one-handed ki switch kuda not feasible at this point

The field is the X-factor. Say Cilic/Del Potro win the Davis Cup. Will it have the effect that 2010 DC did for Djokovic, or if Nishikori/Raonic find the gluten-free diet kind of magic pill to make them physically imposing.

this year it would have been different if he reached US finals where he is generally good....

still this year....3 finals....one semis.....not bad...

he needs to step up and beats joker and pass that hurdle as you said....100% correct....

Hope you are right. With the slow surfaces, it is about becoming phsyically tough - took evend Djokovic to be 23 years to overcome the physical issues.

Sad that talented players like Dimitrov/Kyrgios have their priorities else where instead of the tennis court.

That leaves Thiem and Zverev.

Hi FF:

No.1 ranking might still be on the table, if Murray can find his best game in the next few weeks, so that might make for exciting drama in London.

Top 8 looks like Joker, Murray, Stan, Raonic, Nishikori, Monfils, Thiem and Berdych (Goffin/Cilic might push Berdych out if they can make a late charge!

Wimbledon - Good luck :-)

To paraphrase Federer (in 2008): "I've created a monster"

2015 is Nole's "monster". There was no going up from there. Add some personal issues with wife/family and you have a recipe for a slump.

He was actually fortunate with the walkovers/retirements in the USO and the easy draw in Shanghai. Not to mention Murray himself not taking his chances (losing to Cilic in Cincinnati, Losing to Nishikori) and/or prioritizing Olympics/DC over No.1 ranking.

I still think he will edge Murray over the finish line this year (major reason being Murray's record in Paris/London is nothing to write about, while Djokovic has owned these 2 events).

Next year begins with a fresh slate in January and if Djokovic can overcome this slump - his biggest threat will remain himself and Murray in that order - which basically means the future is on his racquet. There are a bunch of promising youngsters, but the vacuum, created by Dimitrov/Nishikori generation not turning up, will give him at least another 3 years with him being the leader of the pack. Unless of course, Zverev or someone from the lost generation can miraculously turn things around like Djokovic in 2011.
What the executioner did after he was done with his job. (4,6)

Yeah, was surprised to hear when he said he lost motivation! Looks like some personal issues have diverted his mind! Hope this is temporary

season end...recoup avuthaadu anukutunna...

he is still young....and testing period for him this one...

yes.....its very surprising to see him in this persona...

He is ofcourse catching upto Nadal....err...in the other direction of decline...

Frankly...the French Open win was such a huge emotional pressure let off for him....that he seems to have sighed a huge relief and jst sat back.

Even for fans...it was like he did it all and not too worried abt his results any more.

On top of it...he clearly stated sm personal issues...lack of motivation and injury niggles....too many things at the same time.

Djoko is known to follow one of the toughest regimes known to tennis players.

Having done tht for years now....he seems to have taken it easy frm his gruelling schedule.

While his drop has been alarming...we still need to understand he is 29 and has atleast a couple of good years.

I am assuming he shall equal Nadal or max end up at 15.

Its jst a matter of time he shall get his Sh!t together barring his shoulder injury.

The end season is his best time where he usually enters beast mode. This time he is physically and mentally exhausted even on his favourite surfaces.

In this firm, he shall definitely lose Paris and WTF.

Hoping he shall be ready for 2017 for a real battle with Murray.

Djokos level has clearly dropped. We are hoping for the best.

Why is he suddenly falling to pieces. Physical and mental exhaustion, personal issues...i was surprised to see his comments on lack of motivation and that he was just playing for pleasure and is not interested in winning tournaments or chase records..one can read that either way but points to a lack of self belief.and his recent behaviour in the semi final loss to Agut was quite shocking for a World No. 1. I thought that he would atleast catch up with Nadal. But it is looking unlikely if he continues like this.
