Platypus:

I heard that a child learns by comparison. Everything they learn in the sensory world is through recording and comparing.

Now suppose, just for the sake of example, take a cruel example. If the new born from the point of conception in mother's womb has no sensory capabilities - so 5 senses work so basically all antennas to external expriences and data gathering are off.

Would the infant still have a sense of truth? when the infant grows old, does he/she develop that sense of truth?

Ringo_rangaswamy:

so there is no absolute truth external to one self?

I would rather say - there's no absolute anything external to your belief system. Everything's as per what your brain/mind perceives. It is all electrical signals if you get to the grassroots.

What is truth? It is these sensory inputs conforming to certain data points in your stored memory (belief system). Central to all this is YOU. Your personality and your way of processing information. No two persons in the world think alike.

My personal opinion - There's no such thing as absolute truth. There is only your version of it and mine.

Your preconceived notions dictate what you perceive as truth

Truth is an illusion created by our mind. It depends on your belief system, your cultural upbringing and your view of what the world should be.

What is illusion? And when does illusion become truth to someone?
