Bharateeyudu,

Thanks for the recommendations. I am looking for something better than a consumer camcorder. Idea is to get into documentary film making. Zoom is definitely a must. So is a higher FPS so that I can play with the speed during post processing without worrying about degradation in picture quality or missing smoothness.

I will check out GH4.

I tried Canon DSLR for video because I thought I needed only one camera for both still and video. Unfortunately it is quite clear now I need two devices.

GH series is predominantly for videos and videographers..eventhough it is primarily a camera just like 5d[ which videographers used to like but not any more..)..dynamic range of canon 5d m3 waste when compares to gh4 series ani chadivaanu eppudo..

GH2 is couple of generations older..mirrorless chaala develop aindi..and panasonic and Oly has best AF in mirrorless naaku telisi..

stills ki GX8 best pansonic lo ...anyways its 4/3 sensor you cant expect to perform like APSC/Full frame....

any ways I dont rate nikon and canons highly :-).. yes I am serious..

PS: I am not panasonic user..or admirer..I am fujiguy...

bharatheeyudu..

Nenu GH2 use chesha.. GH2 has some hacking option where you can increase the fps.. i am not sure gh4 has that option..

Comming to picture. I do not suggest Gh for photos... They are not as good as nikon or canon. It is not even near to quality of the basic camera.. Autofocus is crap in panasonic.. i did not use gh4 so i cannot comment.

colors in panasonic pictures are not good..

If you are planning for documentaries than go for panasonic gh series. I donot suggest it for regular photography.

anyways...mee reply inkaa raledu..so I am feeling you are not looking for professional video camera..courtesy your profile and pics in a sharing site..(even though it is wrong to estimate your video taking capabilities based on photos..)

I would recommend Panasonic GH4.. truly world class camera and extraordinary for video(and many professionals also use it)....
but sad thing is adi 4K @ 30fps.. If you can wait for some more time GH5 is coming next year(first half).. 4K @ 60fps..

and there are few consumer cam corders...4k at 30fps and I wont recommend them...professional aithe $ 5k daatipothundi..
