The Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday has confirmed that Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has personally briefed the envoys of 22 nations including P5 and India's neighbours on the surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army across the India-Pakistan border late on Wednesday night (September 28).

The P5 members include China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The briefing was along the lines of what Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lt Gen Ranbir Singh said in his press conference in New Delhi.

The Army confirmed today that it had carried out surgical strikes on terror launch pads at the LoC on Wednesday night. The Army also added that the successful strikes caused heavy casualties on the Pakistani side.
