Sensing the near-impossibility to complete this reservoir, the source of Galeru-Nagari project has been now shifted from Gorakallu to Owk to irrigate 2.6 lakh acres in Kadapa, Nellore and Chittoor districts. Yes this project is nearly complete as of 2008 according to hindu paper. Fact is ysr did focus on irrigation which is good thing but there is massive corruption with poor quality work. | ||

Gorukallu reservoir project at a cost of Rs 480 crore in 2005 under Jalayagnam The reservoir had developed leaks soon after getting 1.78 tmc water, exposing the poor quality standards in its execution. Water started gushing out of the leaks submerging agriculture fields and the adjacent areas.
