Since I need to return my MBP to my previous client, I have ended up in buying TWO MBPs :-) 1) MBP 2012 model. That guy have upgraded the RAM to 16GB with 500GB (non SSD HDD). MBP mid 2012 was the last model which allows the upgrades(RAM, HDD etc). Configured for my dev environment and using. (Paid $550 for that). Battery cycle count is bit high 312 or something. 2) After few days, one more Craigslist ad I saw selling the same config listed for $500. Immediately jumped on it as the ad says that it got 148 battery cycle count and Adobe suit is pre installed. Also the charger was coming with the extended cord. Paid $500 for it. While playing with it, I found that there is a hell lot of Software preinstalled on it. All Adobe suit, Parallels 11, Windows 10, Carbon Copy Cloner, Office 2016(both for mac and for Windows) .. What a steal. Used http://sourabhbajaj.com/mac-setup/ to nicely configure it for my dev environment. Also added 500 GB SSD in the place of DVD drive for $70 more.. and its a beast now.. Gave my previous $550 mbp to my Fellam for her home Dev activities.. :-) | ||

yes, that's what macrumors says now: http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/#Mac On the flip side, if you get a good discount it doesn't hurt to buy now if the kid needs one...It rarely makes a noticeable difference as long as you buy 16GB RAM and atleast 500GB SSD | ||

nasty apple. Anyway, I changed my hd with Ssd only. Cost me just over 130$ to put a 512 gb samsung 850 ssd Some things don't change. the rest are useless | ||

Most macbook Pro's come with SSDs now that are soldered to the mother board, so it's now better to get Pro's with at least 500GB SSD as it's not possible to swap hard drives... | ||

Programming and other dev's ante macbook pro. I got mine from my old company, 2009 model mbp is still running great. I had to change hard disk recently, but it's really easy Just browsing, no development ante macbook teesukovachu Some things don't change. the rest are useless | ||
