This film is much better than Srimantudu. Bob simply writes checks (his dad's money) to help out the village. But when it comes to handling aaku rowdies of that village, he won't use money but will fight them with bare hands. He even goes to some college with the heroine to study rural development and doesn't come up with any ideas except for writing checks | ||

Ala anukunte better ye le, but the superficiality and the terrible screenplay comes in the way, it could have been a much better movie than it turned out...

No problem with that, but ee concept ki 2:30 hours are not needed. Love, war, police cases and all conflicts can be easily be solved by money ante, kurchi lo kuukoni dabbulu jallithe adhe screenplay, adhe movie... That being said - this itself can be a great theme for a movie, but to claim in the same movie that movie is not a solution is heights of hypocrisy...it is the classic Indian paradox, nobody wants to claim that being rich is awesome even if someone can get a hot looking babe by throwing money at her...adhi matter.. | ||

I loved this movie. How often you get to see NEW CONCEPT (albeit copy from another movie). Regarding getting things done with money, isn't it the same in most of the telugu movies. Hero either uses machoism/heroism and thrashes 10's of goons. How believable is that. Everyone has to use some means (political/muscle/money etc.) to achieve what they need to achieve. When they refer money is NOT EVERYTHING, they mean, it doesn't buy happiness or satisfaction for your achievements. Over all SUPERB movie (for me). | ||

Tammu interviewing scene deggara I logged off from the movie and slept for most part. Commendable that tammu did her own dubbing but my gawd it was unbearable even though she had very limited lines to speak. Don't compare your weaknesses to someone else's strengths. | ||

How did this movie get so much praise on this DB. Reeks of superficiality, artificiality, upper class snobbish look-at-the-way-we-reach-people-live and beat the system (Karan Johar in a nutshell) kind of mood. Right from the house that Nag lives in, to the way Tamanna dresses - this out Johars Johar. To give it all a patina of sensitivity, human touch is just balderdash. I lost the movie when Nagarjuna gets the hero's sister married off by getting Bharani to bow to him. FTW, using your money to get things done is a cop-out in terms of screenplay writing, same thing later when Karthi's brother is saved by Nag's powers. Same with his flirting with that dancer in Paris. Karthi also gets his job with Vikram's recommendation. While at the same time using his money and powers to get what he wants, then going on to claim that money is not the key to happiness is hypocritical bullcrap. Thoo deenemma cinema... Not one scene, dialogue, characterisation has any semblance of good writing or depth. As i have always said before, any movie runs as much as it deserves. Same with Oopiri, it ran only as much as it deserved. |
