Most of the times, our athletes fight battles not jst in their arena....but hav to fight with biases on Region/Castes/Religions / Conservative Societies/ Govt/ Politics/ Money and what not? If they can scrape thru all the above, they then hav to focus and put watever energy they hav on the Game and hope for the best to compete against world class athletes.... Just look @ Narsingh Yadav....Out for no fault of his...This is the fate of a typical Indian Athlete!! Even 100 Crs is not enough encouragement to these athletes ....where 99% of the parents who were glued to Sindhu's match hav already forgotten abt the commitment required frm them for sports and instead are already pushing their kids to coaching centres to ace the next exam....Entertainment in form of Sindhu n Olympics is over....Daily grinds hav taken precedence.... Let Govt assure ppl tht even a district level sports person is assured of some income and the benefits are as good as any job once they start rising higher.... And let the highest achievers get the world to inspire our commercial mindsets tht all shall be ok if their ward chooses Sports his/her career. yes..you are 100% correct but why give all the money to who had the podium finish..they are other who performed very well but couldn't secure medal(srikanth in badminton) media will overplay the medalists and ignore other performers now if the politicians play to the gallery..i.e give cash incentives only to the medallists it is unfair..they should encourage all 100 odd participants who gave their best.. qualifying to olympics is not a joke i hope the central govt will do the right job..reward all participants and towards infra also | ||
