Speaking at Tenali, Mr. Manohar alleged that the governmentâs wasteful expenditure over the last three years had resulted in a debt of Rs.80,000 crore. âThe combined debt of united State was Rs.1.78 crore, out of which Andhra Pradesh was forced to bear Rs.1.04 crore. But after three budgets, the debt burden of the State shot up to Rs.1.90 crore. Does not the government have the responsibility of revealing its spending through a white paper?â Mr. Manohar questioned. Further, he said that the people were forced to pay Rs.11,000 crore as monthly interest on the debt. âEven as the government has been going on a spending spree, it has not bothered about welfare schemes,â he alleged. Mr. Manohar also pooh-poohed the claims of the government that it was attracting investments. Reeling out figures, he said that Karnataka stood first in attracting investments, followed by Gujarat (Rs.21,309 crore) and Maharashtra (Rs.15,688 crore). | ||

Nadendla manohar is wrong. Yes in the last two years AP govt took 40000 cr loan. Every year AP govt is permitted by central govt to take upto 20000 cr as loan from market or banks. There is nothing way AP govt can exceed the loan limit. But yes as the govt is not spending money wisely on productive things surely within next 5 yrs AP will go into debt trap as central govt is not giving tomely assistance. | ||
