Okatelugodu:

My standard answer for this is: "During early career, when working with new set of peers/business partners, in my anxiousness to build a good relationship with them, I always tried to push myself and tried to agree on certain things even though I knew they were tough to deliver. That commitment of mine used to bite me back at a later point of time, even though relationships have been built as expected. Slowly I started to say 'no' firmly when I clearly know that pushing back is in best interest of both parties. Though I think I have made some improvements on this front, I know this is an area where I have to get better at"

super answer

All my views in web world are personal.. If things work other way in future, I am not responsible as I am not spokesperson for any org/individual/party

What are your weaknesses ante you should never reveal a big weakness. Manam cheppe weakness kooda oka rakam ga positive ga kanapadithe baguntundi.

How do you resolve the conflict in your team?

============================================================ ===============

Thumbrule is never reprimand any of the partues involved in a conflict publicly.

My approach would be talk to both parties separately. Obviously you have other sources of information, gather them before hand so that once you hear directly from them you get a sense of what went wrong. Then come up with a plan and communicate if to them separately/together. When you tell them what needs to be done going forward, do not blame any one for what has happened but firmly put your suggestion/advise forward and follow it up, so that the issue doesn't recur.

Also, some people make the mistake of listening and ignoring in the hope that issues will get resolved eventually. That doesn't happen. So don't try to brush issues under the carpet. Confront, find the source of the problem, plan to resolve it and follow up the plan.

eversince i started keeping a baseball bat in my cubicle there arent any conflicts. if I were the manager of the team i would hand a base ball bat to every resource in the team as part of their welcome kit.
