Urumi:

Ddd services try chesaara ?

Respite nurse services is another option. 2 nights cover chesukovachhu.

respite is next step. kaani respite lo full time nurse lu raaru and we need only those. if at all we get this MLTSS, there's a clause there saying there should be someone (family member) at home 24x7 other than the nurse ata.

We are waiting for a day when we will be free of these shackles! too much pressure :-)

Boglehead:

Contact your kid's Pediatrician's office, and they might be able to help you navigate through the process of obtaining secondary coverage, medicaid or CHIP (if eligible).

Even if you don't qualify for Medicaid, your medical condition may allow you to apply for it, though I'm not sure.

pedhhasupatri vallaki call chesanu, no response yet. pediatrician is a good suggestion, will ask them too.

last time in 2013-early 2014 lo apply chestey reject chesaru. but apparently, mid 2014 nunchi Managed long term services ani launch chesaru ata NJ lo. as per this program, they don't check parents' income.

other option is if you can cut off your employer provided insurance than you can enroll in bum care..like job change etc.. see if you can do that on your wife's name

one more thing is if you can some how join part time or something in desi consulting and enroll through them by paying your own insurance..

Jalsa:

I am looking at options to get secondary insurance. Is it possible to get now and would they cover existing conditions (especially nursing coverage is dicey)?

Someone said, I can get Obamacare even if income is high (as they themselves got insurance from Obamacare as they are self employed). My question is, since i have private insurance, can i still get obamacare? If yes, can i get it only for my daughter?

Bhayya.. called healthcare.gov customer support... this is what they said...

- We cannot enroll in marketplace unless its open enrollment period which starts from november..

- Enrollment is only possible now for life changing events or job related changes... if a kid is born, lose job and lose insurance, marriage etc aithe enrollment is possible.... none of these are applicable in our case...

- i specifically asked if we can sign up as secondary insurance since we already have insurance from my employer.. she said we are not eligible and cannot signup... only during open enrollment period possible.

- insurance only for kid during open enrollment? Yes... only kid can get insurance

- i asked her what if I cancel my insurance... she said we will not be eligible to sign up for marketplace if we cancel the insurance ourselves... we can cancel the insurance only within 60 days of enrollment period i.e after august... on the other hand if we lose the job, we will be eligible immediately... i went little extreme with the idea of cancelling current insurance but looks like its not gonna work

- buying insurance from marketplace will have tax benefits.. mottam details naak kuda telvadu

- inquired abt private insurance... she said it is still possible to buy insurance from private providers ... this might be one of the options..

please let me know if you want me to make any calls to private providers and do any research... bindaas watsapp cheyyi or call... let me know if i can be of any help... God bless u n the family...

NY lo ayithe CHP (child health plus) ani state funded untundi through cdphp or fidelis...marketplace nunde teesukunna (obamacare)....NJ lo em unnayo idea ledu, call the marketplace and ask if they have any such insurance...just give it a try

Thank you, will call them.

NJ lo CHIP program undhi. They also check income for eligibility.

Rajusk:

Obamacare ki kooda edo signing up period untundi kada..unless you have a qualifying event..

in this case, I am not sure, if your lack of coverage is a qualifying event..for that period..

afaik, I don't think there are income restrictions on who can get Obamacare..

if you look at the options, i found it expensive for the coverage they provided 80/20 or whatever..so was stuck to the existing insurance although it was high..but provided 100% coverage

True, but oka question undindhi:
https://www.healthcare.gov/screener/medicaid-disability.html

since my kid has disability, checked yes and they said i might qualify, but only way to find out is to find out for sure is to apply. But, since already insurance undhi kabatti idhi kooda teesukovacho ledho theleedhu.

Koncham information kavali. Here is the situation:
I have private insurance through employer. As you all know, my daughter needs 24x7 nursing and insurance has been providing the past 2.5 years. However, the nursing agency told me last week that insurance said a max of 200 days for this year. I called up insurance and they confirmed the same. I have missed checking that earlier too, that's a mistake, but with so many things going on, lost track of it.

I reached out my company's benefits group on Monday to see if they can extend for this year. Waiting to hear if they can do it.

We do not qualify for Social Security or Medicaid or NJ SPLIT application.

Only thing we can qualify for is NJ Medicaid WAIVER program. Monday nunchi calls chestuntey final ga ivala dorikindhi right information and I gave them my daughter's information and don't know how long will they take to call back. Nursing agency is also helping us by reaching out to their contacts in state office.

Inni rojulu, I tried to get a resolution to this myself, but ippudu nursing agency ki out of pocket pay cheyalsi vasthundhi from tonight. for 8 hours ~$450. So reaching out to you guys if you have any other ideas!
