I had one exp (at the receiving end). I was literally on road(s) when my father expired and looking for all sorts of help. One of my cousins said I will get the post cards printed (to send to relatives about the rituals) out of affection. So I thought I would save some on regular post cards which were 20Paise or 30 that time. SO when he got the cards with my father's picture on it, I went to post office to buy stamps for those. I collected (we three brothers only) some good amount and sent through my aunt. Now my aunt's complaint is, he did not invite any of our own and close relatives for marriage. My expectation was NOT that. I said, OK give the money and come back.. that's it.. someone asked me big amount once. I said I cannot help that big amount but can loan it without interest. Recent Life experience. One of my close relative got health issue. They are poor. Thought of helping and offered help and treatment in top hospital. Everything was fine and all happy. Treatment started money transferred. Later it became chronic. they cannot afford that big hospital but they have to continue has treatment started there. I had to support as i gave word. It has became bug burden after some days. Later came to know that they have white ration card and they would have got Arogya Sri etc for their treatment and hospital. But they need to go to hospital which has that facility. Now it is too tough to shift. Lesson learnt is. Offer money help but not suggest them to some hospital or doctor.
