I think Land pooling may not work in MH or any part of India In AP in worked as people believed and have hope of their property values to up drastically as they have seen the Hyderabad/Hi-Ttch city development (real estae boom ) But in other parts of the country they will not have reason to part with their land for a return of partial land ,that may or may not fetch a higher value compared to 4 times market value compensation they get through land acquisition | ||

Before Babu came to power, before the prohibition, the wine shops used to procure the liquor directly from distilleries/manufacturers. Excise department was only a mediator, only to collect taxes from Wine shops. There wasn't any proper audit or anything. Govt used to lose heavy revenue due to this model. After Babu came to power and removed the prohibition, he got a new act/rule by which all the manufacturers had to supply the liquor to Excise department and wine shops has to buy liquor from excise department. Through this new model, govt earned huge revenue and it became so successful that now all the state govts applied this model and are reaping huge revenue. we have to agree, some of the models introduced by babu are highly successful and generated huge revenue.. another one is computerizing land records.. he started this way back in 1999. | ||

The project’s implementing agency, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), had studied the Andhra Pradesh model of land pooling, where, in order to build the state’s new capital, Amravati, the AP government decided to offer 30 per cent developed land to farmers in exchange for it acquiring a total 34,000 acre of agricultural land.
