The ED has alleged that Jagan concealed facts from Oriental Bank of Commerce while taking loans. He also got the mining license fraudulently in the name of Bharathi Cements and received lime stone from mines allotted illegally in Kadapa district by the then AP Government. The value of the lime stocks works out to more than Rs 152 crores, according to ED. Jagan then sold the shares of Bharathi Cements to M/S Parficim SAS France at Rs 671.20 per share and obtained wrongful gain of Rs 416 crores, apart from retaining 49 per cent of shares either directly or in the name of his group company M/S Silicon Builders Private Limited, and appointed his wife Y S Bharathi Reddy as chairman of Bharathi Cements. According to ED, the sale proceeds was laundered through his group companies Sandur Power Corporation, Classic Reality, Silicon Builders, Saraswati Power and Industries, Nivish Infrastructure, Shalom Infrastructure, Capstone Infrastructure, Utopia Infrastructure, Harish Infrastructure, Marvel Infrastructure, Silicon Infrastructure, Revan Infra, Inspire Hotels, Bhagavath Sannidhi Estates. Jagan also used the proceeds of sale of shares of Bharathi Cements for various investments in other companies, construction of buildings, purchase of lands at various places in AP, Telangana and Karnataka. He also used the money to clear old debts which were taken for the purpose of acquiring assets in the name of his group companies. He also transferred huge funds to his wife Y S Bharathi Reddy, who utilized the funds for investments and third party clearances. The ED says that Jagan is receiving huge amounts as dividends from Bharathi Cements for his 49 per cent holding. All his shares are attached now at acquisition cost of Rs 38.08 crores. |
