News from the AILA conference by ron gotcher. New I-140 regs will not be published until around the end of this year, possibly early next year. I-140 EAD. This thing is going to be worthless. The way the USCIS explained it, only a few people will qualify and they will only want it if they have no other options. The DOL regs are in progress and could be published as a proposal by the end of Summer. They are also looking at charging fees, but that would be a separate rulemaking process and probably won't start until the end of this year at the earliest, with a final rule by the end of next year. PERM processing is about four months right now, but is expected to slow in the future due to budget limits. idi kooda nakindi chivariki. |
