this is where crate and slowly expaning the territory helps.

Crate helped train her very fast as to follow my signals. at first due to her uncontrollable will to reach us whenever we entered the home, she is used to run crazy, and even with guests. With crate, you can build her to follow your signs on when to step out, control her emotion.

once out of her crate, having boundaries in the home helps in a way to train on her ability to understand when you need to have her in control.

right now she has full reign at home, but when folks come by, she waits for my signals, ofcourse sometimes she cannot contain herself, but realizes quickly. I had to do this, because she is a mix of naturally aggressive breeds, little did i know she would turn out to be a very mellow one.

Out house is a toys warehouse on every floor and every room due to my kids
So cannot leave her out of my sight
If she finds something she will settle down and start chewy and I know what that silence means
Otherwise she will come and peek at me and run away with toy in mouth...game on

Training her to not chew on certain things is probably a good idea like how sasha did
If that works out , we can leave her outside the crate and see how she does

2-3 weekdays one of us is at home
Other days she is crated for 6-8 hrs during the day

She holds her pee while in crate
And has a set pee/poo cycle Which she has adjusted to based on food , sleep timings etc

Right now biggest hurdle is socializing with ppl...too friendly hyper jumping

When we got him .. My wife was WFH for about 9 months .. occasionally she used to go to office ...

We had him when we were in an APT .. Never used a crate ... Once tried it but i felt bad and returned the crate ..

chewing wise ... We got him used to things he can chew on .. For example coffee table undedhi .. He used to chew on that .. Never said anything .. He chews on bedsheets .. So will buy a fluffy bedsheets every 3-4 weeks
He chewed on headphones .. strictly warned against it ... He never chewed on wires and Headphones after that ...

So basically he knows what to chew on and what not to chew on ..

Coming to being house broken topic .. He is completely house broken .. Sleeps on the couch , on our bed anywhere he wants to sleep ... Memu office ki ellinappudu he will be @ home alone .Max we left him with out attendance was 8 hrs ...

They are very intelligent as they observe ur patterns .. My wife goes to office early and i go late so max time he stays at home is around 5 hrs .. So when my wife goes he drinks water .. goes to pee and then again drinks water .. I give him water and go but never drinks or drinks very little .. Because he knows he cannot go outside ..As soon as my wife comes he drinks water ....

I will be getting a dog door for him soon ..

first 4 to 5 months crated, tharvatha kindha floor ki parimitham chesaan. she was completely house broken by then. only once she chew on my shoes. with lots of toys for her she was busy. but in my case until she was two years, i was taking her out every four hrs for atleast a 15 min walk.

fortunately for her there is always someone at home since the last 4 years

anyway - after she turn 6 to 8 months, you can let her out of the crate.

btw. name emi ettar?

when you are at work...are you crating the dog or day care
mine is doing fine in the crate...sleeps all day and got used to us being away...but wanted to check how much of a use doggy door is?

our deck is sizable enough for her to run around...wondering if we can try when she is completely house broken (kids toys, pencils, crayons etc are an issue :-) )
hoping she will be less energetic in the evenings :P
