As a part of its regional connectivity scheme, passengers will be charged Rs. 2,500 for an hour’s flight on regional routes by the airlines. The government will provide financial support to fund airlines’ losses on such un-served routes. what non-sense is this? subsidised air travel for upper middle class, while middle and lower classes suffer with rising petrol prices and rising retail inflation? no-frills airport is the way to go and i'm glad that its finally here. http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-national/tp-andhrapradesh/tdp-claims-denied-by-its-own-budget/article6336996.ece http://www.newindianexpress.com/states/andhra_pradesh/article41814.ece 1991- AP debt 22% of GSDP, 2004 - 34% of GSDP, 2014 - 22% of GSDP. |

- Cap on fair at max. rs 2,500/hr. If above base fair subsidy provided by center/state on a ratio of 80:20. - States can compensate their share by reducing vat on jet fuel. - If fair goes beyond base price, Subsidy will be provided to airlines through reverse e-auction, where airlines bid for subsidy. This will happen through separate set of rules which will be framed - Bid boost to regional no frills airports and long term benefits for sector & country. -5/20 rule replaced with just 20 fleet requirement - This ends monopolism in sector and air travel is going to be common mode for general traveler. - Railways have to set on heels to compete against aviation sector. - Applauds to work of Aviation Min. Raju garu for designing such a ground breaking policy and PM Modi for steering & approving it. |
