General suggestion..you can take whatever looks good & elegant.. most of the time after a certain price range.. Most movies in Kodi dont have 5.1 , so only 2 speakers working most of the time.. BTW any good remote you can suggest to control equipment in basement from Family room right above.. both are great products. B&W are traditional tower/box styled speakers. Martin Logan are elctro-static speakers with ribbon-tweeter. They sound little different. You have to listen yourself to make a decision. | ||

I can infer from that site, they are building a machine for gaming and streaming server, which is an oxymoron. If you are a gamer, you know what you want and would have bought it already. For streaming, you need completely different configuration, which I built. I ordered a barebones server for that purpose. I am stressing out server, because it is going to run 24x7. You need a server chassis, server CPU and really low powered machine. You don't want a machine that screams loud and runs hot, consuming lot of power. I custom ordered a server, with a case that has lot of breathing space, Intel Xeon processor for servers with low-power consumption, SSD for running OS. Installed Windows Server 2012 OS myself, added bunch of green hard drives. After setup and configuration, I have machine that: * has plenty of storage for my media (movies, music, home videos, pictures) * backs up itself, in thh case if the drive fails I have a backup * streams videos to all machines (TVs, Bluray players, computers) in home and outside * I can VPN into my home, from outside and access my media/data * backs up all my personal computers. If any of my laptop crashes, I can recover from server * watch the movies directly off the server, listen music directly off the server It costs me about $2K. You heard it right. I am not a fan of Klipsch speakers, but they have great value. Klipsch uses horn tweeters as opposed to dome tweeters in the speakers, so they sound different from other brands. You may or may not like them in comparison with others. Your ears should decide. Few suggestions to save some money. Epson PRO CINEMA 6030ub is latest (still 2014 model) which costs more than $3000. If you go with Epson 5030 model, it is 95% same technology missing a feature or two, but costs less than half of it. 7.2.4 Yamaha RX-A3050BL is again $2000 A/V receiver, which you don't need. Go for a receiver in $1000 range and if you want add separate Amps. This way, you can replace the A/V receiver in few years, still keeping the Amps. Oppo Bluray players like BDP-103 are lot better than Sony players. Why are the 2 subwoofers different models. Try to stick with same models. As you are going for Atmos setup, there is a Klipsch RP-280FA with top-firing woofer for Atmos, than Klipsch RP-280F you suggested. | ||
