In Bay area - are ranch style (single floor) single family homes preferred? how is the resale value for these type of homes? I see all the new constructions - 1 floor to 2 floor homes in 1:3 ratio.. but the price difference is not much usually , usually 100 to 200K .. Any disadvantages of buying single floor houses over 2-floor
