What a bullcrap scheme, malla ee moral coercion okati, that if you give your subsidy up, then we can fund other people who need cylinders. Why is there a one-one relationship between these. Is the govt. that strapped for money to fund cylinders to prevent infant mortality (in their own publicity) that they can't spare a few crores to do this. As it is, most of us pay income taxes, VAT, service tax through our nose without getting any benefit in return and rather we have seats in higher education taken away through reservations, school fees blowing up, houses unaffordable. For every problem in the country, there is only one solution - squeeze the middle class. Anyway this is not applicable to most of us as LPG subsidy has been removed for people with over 10 lakh income. So they might have included this forced giveitup in the numbers they are quoting. That being said, i have my honest doubts around these numbers. Out of the 16 crore gas connections in India, do they mean to say that 1 crore people have given up their subsidy. If many in AP and Telangana have given it up, i have to admire them for their savviness and not succumbing to this nonsensical hype. | ||
