After 5 days Munnar/Thekkady....plan was to go to Alleppey for houseboat...booked but cancelled as kids wanted to go back to chennai and 5 days was too much for them LOL. They were very dissapointed as they didnt spot tigers/wildlife ... | ||

Thekkady - There is not much except a scenic drive and a much hyped Periyar wild life sanctuary. There are two options, 1. Stay inside the forest in KTDC managed resort...there are two one inside the sanctuary close to entrance.....and other one is very costly that they take you on a boat inside the forest... You can stay at the one near the entrance inside the forest. Gates are closed at 5.00 pm and open at 6.00 am. So, if you go inside you cannot comeout after 5.00 pm. But it is worth a try. I however didnt stay there, instead stayed right outside of the entrance gate. I stayed in this hotel...It was ok...not too costly and is right at the entrance http://www.tigersroarperiyar.com/ (Some renevatoin was going on at that time in the basement/ground floor). I stayed in 4th floor. There was small pool rooftop....avg. You need to book periyar forest boat ride which is the main attraction a head in season. There is online booking available. Go for the 7.00 am boat which is heavy demand as there is chance of viewing wildlife at this time. After that i went on Spice Plantation tour (Spice walk). There are quite a few...you can visit one of them and they will give you a tour of all spice plantations..collect some samples. If you skipped Elephant Ride/Elephant Bath in Munnar, you can cover here. | ||

Reentry, transportaion gatra ante ....i drove from chennai on my car. Started early morning 6 am....around 11.30 Trichy. On request took a diversion to visit Sreerangam temple. 2.00 pm Lunch @ Dindigul...Then drive to Theni and i stayed overnight in Theni instead of driving all the way to munnar, because friends suggested drive to Munnar would be good during the morning via Tea estates and hills. Early morning Drive to Munnar... Oka sari Munnar ellaka just relax and drive to point of interests... You can choose one direction each day and cover places Mattupetty dam, echopoint, kundala dam (boating is good - Speed boat), indo swiss project, photo point, Top Station. Top Station after parking you need to walk a bit but it is worth scenic location...Evening velthe you can enjoy the beuty and relax. On this way, there was a Elephant spot...where you can pay and ride elephant. It was good kids will love it.( You can skip elephant ride here and do the same in Thekkady if you would like. I heard it is cheaper in thekkady) Another day in a different direction...you can cover all these Eravikulam National Park, Rajamala forest (some sandal wood forest),Tata Tea museum you can visit either first or while returning same route. Chinnar wild life sanctuary is little far and it is a dry forest...i couldnt spot any wildlife due to summar and high temparatures.....except some Monkeys... This is Munnar....There are so many resorts....you can chose one according to your liking....you can pick ones in Tea estates peaceful calm and nice views..or some good ones with little views but close to City. Close to city ante you can do some shopping and eat and at different places... This is munnar...i will update on Thekkady after a while....going to Tennis back after some time. | ||

nenoka very short trip vesanu ... Bangalore to kanyakumari.... kanyakumari to trivendram .. Trivendram to some firend visit in kerala ..then bagalore .. Trivendram is ok..beach bagundi ..chuttupakkala nature cure centers vunnai ..very famous ones. Temple super vundi ..full protection with police... kanyakuari temple also hugue...but mana daridram worst maintenance .. kallu chetulu lenollu kustollu anta premises lo vuntaru ..adukkuntunttaru .. sun rising is really beautiful.I really loved it.enjoyed it.. anthe.. Sensation(About Bala):He can win in atleast half of the segments in Rayalaseema. Emi matladutunnavo neeku telusa. He can contest any where in coastal and rayalaseema districts.
