Nothing like that. He seems to abhor Saudi for some weird reasons, and I am not convinced with those reasons. anthe

The number of Indians working in a diverse array of fields in Saudi Arabia - both white and blue collar workers - rose from 34,500 in 1975 to 1.2 million in 1999 and 2.96 million in 2016. This comprised almost half of the 7.3 million Indians in the Gulf who together send USD $ 36 billion in 2015, 52 percent of the total remittances to India annually.

Five MoUs signed
1. Agreement on Labour Co-operation between the Ministry of Labour of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India for Recruitment of General Category Workers.
2. Technical Cooperation Program between the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO).
3. Executive Program for Cooperation in the Field of Handicrafts between the Export Promotion Council for Handicraft (EPCH) in the Republic of India and Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage.
4. MoU between Financial Intelligence Unit - India and the Financial Intelligence Unit-Saudi Arabia concerning Cooperation in the Exchange of Intelligence related to Money Laundering, Terrorism Financing and Related Crimes.
5. Framework for Investment Promotion Cooperation between Invest India and the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA).

He said the Saudi labour ministry had initiated the process in a bid to ensure the welfare and rights of workers. The Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC) had set up counters at the airports to hand over the SIM cards, he added .
The envoy said officials were briefing workers who arrive from India and elsewhere about the laws of the country and the rights and duties of workers after which the cards are handed over. Mubarak said that the SIM cards will help workers communicate with the Indian mission as well as with their loved ones back home in India.
A brochure on the rights of workers and how to seek assistance from the Saudi labour ministry in case of complaints or disputes are also given to them on their arrival.
Government figures show that there are roughly 2.8 million Indians working in Saudi Arabia. The measures have come in the wake of increasing complaints by Indian workers about unpaid salaries, poor working conditions and ill-treatment at the hands of employers.
