Recently, Hyderabad presented a curious spectacle, when sons of two chief ministers fought for political supremacy over Hyderabad. On one side was KT Ramarao, son of Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and on the other Lokesh Naidu, son of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chanddrababu Naidu. The heirs apparent of two important political families of Andhra and Telangana chose the appropriate arena, politics, to prove that they have come of age.The campaigned in GHMC elections based on the political legacies of their fathers. Today Hyderabad has seen the rise of another ‘son’, entirely different from the other ‘sons’, continuing distrubting trend of some sons thriving on the ‘land-development’ business in ever-growing city of Hyderabad. These ‘sons’ enter the land market armed with the political clout derived from their father’s or mother’s position in the government. They settle the land disputes, related to the ownership, development, transactions, sales and purchases. Sons and relatives of many politicians, who are yet to become hit headlines, have entered the Hyderabad land business in a big way . Some time back a son of a home minister ruled roost in Hyderabad. In the absence any protective law ( now the parliament passed the real estate bill) many sons, brothers, cousins of netas entered the fray to gain the limited land available in the city in one way of the other. Many construction companies have become land mafia by earning political patronage through the sons. Given their proximity with the powers that be few culprits get caught. The harassment by the development mafia is rarely reaches the police station as the victims are frightened by political connections and police cases. It needs a woman like Kothapalli Geetha to lodge a complaint courageously against the persons involved in the alleged kidnap of her husband and who extracted her husband’s signature on some white papers in a bid to settle scores. Ninety per cent of cases do not come to light for fear of retribution later. Now, the Punjagutta police on Thursday have booked a case against Sai Yadav, son of Talasani Srinivas Yadav, commercial taxes minister in TRS government in Telangana. The case was booked following complaint by Kothapalli Ramakoteswar Rao, husband of Araku, YSRCP MP Kothapalli Geetha. According to Geetha, who first informed the police about the alleged kidnap of her husband by some people, Sai Yadav, minister’s son was involved in the harassment of her husband. AS per the complaint, Ramakoteshwar Rao had earlier entered an agreement with Ramakrishna Constructions for the development of a five acre plot he owned in Raidurgam. He later cancelled the deal as there was no progress in the project. According to the MP, the builders called him to Taj Krishna Hotel on the pretext of settling the matter. In the meeting, she alleged, Sai Yadav had threatened Rao. Today, minister Talasani defended his son like any father stating Sai was innocent and story of Geetha was concoction. But, the presence of Sai Yadav in a meeting of builders in a five star hotel clearly points to the type of activities he is into. No Signature |
