The only that should be changed is Reservations should not be given to those families who have already benefited from them. Other than that, there shouldn't be any changes wrto reservations. The % of reservations for sc st should be the same as now till they become well off like upper castes. Doesn't matter how many more years it will take. They were deprived and persecuted for thousands of years by upper castes. I am sure the reservations for them will not last that long. | ||

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), ideological mentor of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), today said that the reservation system may not have achieved the desired results after 60 years of its implementation and needs to be debated and reviewed. Speaking to the media at the end of the three-day meeting of Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha at Nagaur in Rajasthan, RSS general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi said that there is a need to revisit the system. In what is possibly a reference to the recent quota agitation launched by the Jats in Haryana and the Patels in Gujarat, Joshi said that well-off communities should not ask for quotas as it defeats the purpose of reservations. Among other decisions taken in the meeting, the RSS has also agreed to scrap its signature khaki knickers only to make way for trousers. The meeting of the Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha was attended by top leaders of the RSS including its chief Mohan Bhagwat. |
