Microsoft is betting its future on Cloud. If they want to succeed, they can't have any restrictions about which os/servers/applications to host. I think within 3-5 years they will offer AD & Exchange also on linux. | ||

While your notion is true, all nosql databases are moving heaven and earth to showcase their capabilities to handle traditional relational data....so much so that even keyvalue dbs where the value is supposedly opaque to db, is providing alternate indexes , at least conceptually.... No-SQL doesnt mean that SQL would die. The domain of the data meant for No-SQL processing is completely different from what we had(and continue to have) in relational database. So, NoSQL doesnt kill SQL(or relational)dbs. Read more about what kind of data is being processed using NoSQL and why. | ||
