I am also planning to go back to India..kaani son 6th grade next year and for me i have to go to office to work..never worked in India since 2002. not sure how i will be able to manage and for my son also if he is able to study in India. very much worried..  some times..i think staying here is good..sometimes staying in india is good.very confused.. Nenu kooda repeated gaa answers isthunna. 1 lakh 5thousand. Rental house in Gachibowli(40 k) Monthly expenses including miscellenous stuff etc, petrol for two cars etc(50k). I think I spend 5k only for Non veg out of this and am usually little lavish. Remaining 15k per month on one time costs that may occur through out the year. Insurance for 2 cars. I don't have a salary and hence I pay health insurance. car service for two cars. Festivals, travel, Gifts for weddings etc. Added to this pay around 1.5 lakhs for Kids(only 1) school fee. so for me, my annual cost of living is 14.1 Lakhs. I think I have exaggerated this. so in any case it is 14 Lakhs and I lead a very comfortable life style. | ||

A US citizen or green card holder living in India will have to declare his global income in his US tax return as well as his India return. The DTAA will only help in ensuring that a particular income is not taxed twice. Most people think that they will be taxed twice on the same income. That is not true.
