Yes, i don't know if they do it explicitly...but if you look at the placements its almost all top firms will only have full time MBAs. Typical path of people at a company like Mckinsey or Goldman will be...undergrad from a top school, work as an Analyst for 3 years...then MBA from a top school...then join as an associate in these firms. It feels so constrained...but that's how they operate. Even if they have a very good analyst, they wont promote them internally and keep them...they force them to do an MBA...most of the times...that person wont even come back to the same firm. | ||

Not true...there is almost no difference in fees and schools don't put any hurdles in placements. Most companies prefer full time MBAs because the talent pool is better and younger. The pool of full-time is global vs part-time is local. Most banks and management consulting firms wont touch part-time MBAs. Its much harder to get a full time admission compared to a part-time MBA at any top school. Also, full time MBAs have everage...3 years on average. | ||

That is a tricky question bro, as I said earlier, none of the jobs I got selected had a mandatory req to have a MBA. But that being said, I believe MBA has helped me in standing out from other applicants.I am into my 8th year of IT, changed my career from a QA to Financial BA/PM and I believe it will surely help me down the line too. Irrespective of the advantages I got from it, it was my dream to pursue this degree. Frankly, I never thought I would do or at least think to afford it. By god's grace, got an opportunity to complete the course at a very minimal fee and I am happy with it. | ||

Nee details (ante experience, family, visa situation etc) cheppu or email me..I can definitely advice. No 1 reason is usually for career change...same career track or company lo peddha use undadu. Generally, MBA is most beneficial if you do it in your 20s and before marriage...because you will have more time to focus on these things and you will have less to give up from your current track. Financially, most lucrative paths after an MBA are management consulting and Investment banking...and they strongly prefer people in 20s. People that do an MBA in 30s/after marriage...generally stick to their company. At best they will change from a Dev Lead to a Product Manager. Daani kosam ayithe MBA anavasaram...you can ask somebody from Product Management in your company to mentor you for an year and transition to such a role. 30s lo career change ante chaala energy undaali...I have seen very few people do that. | ||

Nenu chesindi Wright State, Ohio bro. AFAIK, there is no real 'part time' MBA. If you take 'X' number of courses in a sem, you will be treated as a FT. You will have an option to choose evening classes or weekend classes. I chose evening classes as I was on h1 and working at that time. The students with F1 visa (FT) were also attending same classes along with me. Since MBA is meant for mainly for working individuals, they will be scheduled mostly during after work hours, that doesnt mean it is a part time course. Main diff between evening and weekend is, in case of weekend classed, you will move along with same class members through out your course . You cannot choose your own pace. This will be advantageous in building good network, but you will have to spend at least 2 years. Evening classes can be chosen at your own pace, own choice of courses (as long as you meet the course reqs). But you might not have the same class members after each sem. My specialization was in Project management. I wouldn't suggest online MBA. | ||
