Ram Charan got a shock of his life with Nannaku Prematho as Sukumar copied some key scenes from Tamil film Thani Oruvan. That movie clicked in Tamilnadu because of the mind games between the hero and villain characters. Sukumar used the essence of it to write different screenplay but remaking Thani Oruvan in Telugu won’t be a good idea anymore. Until Sankranthi, Ram Charan was gearing up for the Telugu remake of Thani Oruvan that was supposed to roll on from February. Now they had to rethink about the remake and see if they could do any changes to the screenplay so that our audience doesn’t get a feeling that it is inspired by Nannaku Prematho! Charan currently is facing similar issues that NTR has faced at one stage. NTR had to go for a complete makeover to expand his audience. He has been successful in doing it with some genuinely risky attempts. Charan is under severe pressure to take risks as big as NTR to get back on track. Thani Oruvan could have been a welcome change for him, but he would look like a copy cat if he does it now, because of Nannaku Prematho. |
