No! A business majorly tries to break even while capture market share. Also online business will be more aggressive for obvious reasons like easy to scale, less manpower etc. So they have better opportunity to scale (which can also be their undoing). SMBs or more small ones usually go about profits quickly but if you are looking at business that wants higher revenues then it will having higher working capital but less profits initially, but these will sustain for very long time creating huge wealth. No profits doesn't necessarily mean losing business. Why do flipkart give aggressive discounts, to capture market share once u do that then profits will automatically come. Simply put getting 1 rupee each from 100 customers or getting 1 rupees from 1 million customers. So startups try to reach that million customer base and then get that small 1 rupee profit which will look bigger dues to large customer base You have your way. I have my way. It's a big question to answer in few words. Let's just say the startup success not necessarily mean they are into profits, if it does then does those profits help then scale to serves large customer base? If not that's where vcs come into picture And as I said success isn't just profit. For most of startups the initial motto is to capture market and build large customer base even at the cost of economic losses coz having bigger base ensures longevity. Having to capture such base and also to retain them over a period of time requires marketing etc. So if vcs do not fund such startup they might not scale even with big customer base, agreed vc will always try to come out with a 10X etc profits but which businessmen doesn't? I have a question here @reddit @chanakaya ... when u r being a start up... basically you aim to check you business model... so you focus on a particular area or region.... and you start from there.... If it is a success.... then why is there a necessity to involve Vc's or Funders? As I have seen, they bring a lot of money than what business can do... So, ultimately business fails... (Money involved>>what business can do).... Can you guys explain me where I am getting it wrong?? | ||
