Divi rightly said...being other metro cities..BLR and chennai very close to AP and hyderabad being our only cosmo head quarter..

telugu vaalla investments baaagaa vunnayi...hope they move back atleast part of the business

CBN entha manchodo cheddodo pakkana pedithe . he will definitely develop AP. asalu prajalu nammindhi , vote vesindhi andhuke . new state ki CBN lanti leader kavalanukunnaru vesaru.

AP will see new heights. lot of potential and CBN edhe range lo doosuku pothe inka super. parties pakkanettu ee vishayam lo matram support cheyyala AP ni. and what we r seeing is nothing . once people see the development and fruits and start coming back to AP from T and KA and TN inka sky is limit endhukante Seemandhra people;s investments in these 3 states r huge. and if 20 % of them invest in AP also it will be game changing in south india.

Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management's South India campus is in Nellore - Almost ready for inauguration

A modern looking building to house the southern region campus of the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) is nearing completion on the outskirts of Nellore city.

The Rs. 35-crore IITTM building is likely to be inaugurated in the first week of January. Tipped as a Pongal gift to the local people, the institute is one of its own being the south Indian campus of the national level IITTM.

An autonomous organisation under the Union Ministry of Tourism, the IITTM has developed Nellore campus as a strategic location for meeting the emerging needs of tourism and travel industry spread over the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Telangana.

"The construction of the building is nearly completed. Till now, Rs. 25 crore have been spent on this project. This is going to be a landmark institute in this region," said Collector M. Janaki.

Stating that Nellore region has lot of potential in the fields of tourism and travel, Ms. Janaki said all steps were being taken to ensure standards and quality in the establishment of such national level organisation so that it would give boost to the existing tourism infrastructure in the district. Apart from having renowned shrines like Ranganadha Swamy Temple in Nellore and Narasimha Swamy Temple at Penchalakona, the Nellore district has got the unique advantage of having the tourism potential places like the Pulicat lake and Nelapattu bird sanctuaries. The Sathish Dhawan Space Centre is also located at Sriharikota in Sullurupeta area in this district.

At the IIITTM Nellore campus, educational courses, training, research and consultancy in the diverse fields of tourism, travel and so on are offered.

The other IITTM campuses are located at Gwalior, Bhubaneswar, Goa and New Delhi in northern India.

PG diploma

It is proposed to offer a two-year post graduate diploma in management programmes approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Considered a national level premier organisation, the IITTM has got the distinction of having as its founder member the UN-ESCAP promoted network of Asia Pacific Educational and Training Institute in Tourism (APETIT).

On passing out from the IITTM campus, the graduates will have wide ranging opportunities nationally and internationally in the areas of tour operations, tourism marketing, and air and shipping cargo management as well.
