Connections help both the rich family kids & Harvard. According to Amigo, Harvard is running a chex racket. What I meant is.. Just because you are a private institue, you cannot do as you wish...you cannot discriminate under the guise of management quota. All the while you were compaining that general public seats are becoming too less. Now Kejri tries to makes sure that at least the 75% is free and fair and you complain again. Make up your mind. Refer below "Kejriwal said it was important to remove the management quota, calling it âthe biggest scamâ in Indiaâs education system. âThere will be only 25% reservation for economically weaker sections; the rest 75% will be made available to the general public. How this 25% is divided is left to states. 25% seats lo some SC/ST (no creamy layer) - just caste certificate enough, some OBC(creamy layer - less than 10 lakhs/PA) economically poor(Annual income PA) Not free seats. But govt gives fixed amount like 10k per annum per seat irrespective of whatever the actual fee is. Say regular fee is 2 lakhs pr annum, govt gives 10k and this is not pre-paid.(This is why schools r increasing fee for regular seats - cross-subsidy) They give it after some time. TDP govt is giving land to XLRI in Andhra, but it is a minority institute and CBN cannot overtake it if there is mismanagement or some other issue. But CBN govt can overtake Narayana colleges if someone complains abt mismanagement or some other issue(This is why KCR family is saying they want to overtake CBIT because of bad management but they can never do this to a minority college legally) If COng comes to power again, the next logical step is to bring law like RTE for higher education(enabled by 93rd amendment by Sonia govt)....Narayana, Chaiatanya etc will be in trouble. So know what you wish for. | ||

This is a complex issue below the surface so here is an example: You find a bright kid in your neighborhood who is poor or disadvantaged in ways that YOU think are valid. With a mgmt quota you can simply offer the kid a seat and derive that psychological satisfaction that drives all philanthropy. Without a mgmt quota you can enter him into a lottery system and hope she wins, in your own school. This defeats all impulses that drive Hindus to participate in a school sector and deflates their social stature. Remember that minorities can do whatever they want. In the same scenario : you can have a Catholic priest walk by and see the same kid and act as a benevolent saviour on the spot and therefore derive the psychological advantage that is denied to an equally placed Hindu.
