D3300 is good camera and use 18-55, 75-300 is useless lense, may not have image stabilization. DSLR images quality bagutundi and you can use it for videos. Low light and night photos lo difference untundu

At same time good Laptop does not create good software and same with DSLR. It is in your hands to bring the good output.

You should have bought Full Frame DSLR. It is a little expensive.

You need wide angle lens to see more background. Zoom lenses cant take wide angle shots. The Wide angle lenses are very expensive

This had nothing to do with the DSLR model. Almost all DSLRs are same as far as coverage

To the experts:

Bought D3300 the other day and getting used to it.. So far, I havent seen the benefit of shelling 500$ for this piece.

My biggest puzzle: why is this camera is not able to show wide background? My HTC one camera is covering most background than this 500$ DSLR with the 75-250 lens.

Am I doing something wrong or do I have to step baaaack while using DSLR? OR is there any setting that i am missing?

Will wait for a day before returning to costco to return it.
