If you look at vyasa OR VALMIKI , they just have written Ithihaasa. That means the things that already happened or just concluding was written as is without attributing any of their opinions about any character. He never said any bad about any character. because this is not poetic creation. More over Veda Vyasa is a Maharshi and Mahabhartam was supposed to written by Ganesha even before Vyasa completes his speech. He is a Maharshi, and has no emotions in understanding any character. Nannayya is a great scholar , he read as a commoner and understood, analyzed the charters and incorporated his own perspective, trying to preach people that this is a bad habit , as per his desh kala conditions. Dharmaja knows the result of the dice game. But he never expects that kind of insult to himself, his bros and wife, that turned the tables | ||

Vyasa bharatam prachuryam lo unnappudu the focus was on kshatriya dharma , nannayya time ki vache time ki desha kaala maana paristhithitulani batti it was portrayed as a vice. In history there is no such thing as the last word on any subject research leads to new things every day | ||

This is based on Chaganti pravachanam and some google search that confirmed the changes There are lot more changes here and there.. but gambling weakness vs adhering to dharma is huge difference IMO Don't say you don't have enough time. Looks like telugu version of Mahabharatam has quite a few changes compared to Vyasa version Here is one of them and it is most critical / key part.. i am not sure why Nannaya would change it.. because it gives us totally different POV When Duryodhana n co invites Dharma raju n co for paachikalu / joodam - as per Vyasa version, Dharama raaju knows about the consequences of it but still agrees to go and play as he want to follow dharma (He says he can't say NO when a person like Vidurudu comes and invites him.. also he doesn't want to disrespect Dhrutharashtra as he is pedananna and he sent the invite on Duryodhana request) But as per Nannaya version - Dharma raaju agrees and go there to play purely because of his weakness for gambling.. joodam ane vyasanam oka balaheenatha for him. Nannaya stresses the 'vyasanam' and its paryavasaanam as main concept of pqandavas losing everything etc And same thing repeats again - when pandavas are called for joodam 2nd time (first time they lose everything but dhrutharashta returns their kingdon on Dripadi's request).. So they go there again and lose again As per vyasa version, he goes to play 2nd time as bheema and arjuna feeling sad because they got their kingdom as biksha rather than through war.. so he goes to play again so that he can lose everything and they can earn everything back through war at later time but Nannaya version again says, he goes there again due to his weakness So total gaa main theme change ayipoyindi in telugu version Not sure why / how he can change such big thing while translating MB experts - what is your take on it Don't say you don't have enough time.
