Not true, say Transparency International officials, who find it "strange" that the Chief Minister says he was not aware of the allegations. "We forwarded a letter around May 27. The news was covered in newspaper. The details that the CBI is probing were in that news item. In the letter we requested just to investigate the complaint. Whether it is a truth or lie, it is the job of the investigating agency to decide," said Ramnath Jha a director of the watchdog. The officials say the whistleblower came with specific information. "We sat with him for an entire day and verified his claims over 20 days," says Ashutosh Mishra, another director. "The allegation is that the person used to favour certain companies which were floated by and run by his colleagues. These are publicly available documents. There was a clear case of conflict of interest.  New Delhi Scared by Delhi Government�s effort to unearth shady dealing and corruption indulged into by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Modi Government today unleashed the Central Bureau of Investigation as its political weapon and conducted a raid in the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal�s Office. The CBI officers scanned files of the Chief Minister�s office relating to corruption in the dealings of Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA). Aam Aadmi Party Government had initiated a probe into the DDCA scam on a complaint filed with it. Files related to this probe were in Chief Minister�s Office and this was the precise reason that the CBI, under Modi Government, today raided the Chief Minsiter�s office on pretext of investigating a case related to the dealings of Chief Minister�s Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar between 2007 and 2014, much before Arvind Kejriwal taking over as Chief Minister of Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today exposed to Modi Government�s lie in Parliament about the CBI raid. Kejriwal said that CBI�s action and Finance Minister�s statement in the Rajya Sabha violates the natural logic. He said, if the raid was about some contracts allegedly given by Mr. Rajendra Kumar in different capacities during the then Sheila Dikshit government in departments like Education, VAT and IT, the raids should have been conducted in the record rooms of those departments where the files related to those contracts must be lying, but those departments were not raided, because the CBI never intended to investigate the cases that it�s using as pretext to conduct raids. He highlighted that he did not keep any portfolio with him as Chief Minister so he clears files coming from other departments only and his office keeps files about government�s business for last one fortnight. Despite knowing fully well that there was no possibility of finding the files of the case they were investigating, the CBI chose to raid the CM�s office on this pretext to lay its hands on files related to DDCA scam involving Finance Minister. Arvind Kejriwal challenged Narendra Modi and his government to unleash all the might and machinery to its disposal. He said, we are not intimidated; we cannot be cowed down by misuse of instruments like CBI. You today stand completely exposed and we�ll fight to the last breath to uproot corruption. | ||
