I don't endorse blind faith what ever may be the subject, Vaastu or something else. My point is when I flipped my house to make it 70% vaastu compliant, I gave emphasis to many parameters that would impact my families comfort in terms of free flow of light, air flow, view, feel good factor, sun raise , sun set aspects etc We can receive many inputs from many sources, I don't think people are unwise enough to spend a bomb merely taking these inputs. What ever people does is ultimately for their peace of mind  and self satisfaction. if any one follows vaastu for good luck, it is their choice. they will get the appropriate results of their belief system | ||

I specifically asked about those who upgraded to flame free stoves but didn't update their Vaasthu books. And regarding your comment that beliefs need not be scientific as long as they aren't hurting anymore, I just want to point out that the same people who willingly sacrifice thousands of dollars worth built up area or spend hundreds or thousands on dollars on walls or Windows or design modifications for Vaasthu and say "it causes no harm" would cry foul if made to believe that there's a kg of pulses in a packet where in fact there is only 900g. They say that people must be made aware of the truth and that the $1 loss hurts them! What about the ripoff of the Vaasthu pundit who makes false claims based on obsolete or faulty beliefs? What about those people who updated to flame free stoves but didn't update their Vaasthu books? What about those who move thousands of miles away from Telugu land but expect the direction of breeze, weather conditions etc. to remain unchanged?! ##################################################### Still many people in India uses Gas stoves, so usually people keep windows on south side. so that why it is not preferred. If there is no windows over there we may have it. Again there is no point in questioning some one's believes , we are not expert in any of these fields to give a global statements I can show many people with superstition beliefs in so called west again it is science developed depending on local parameters, Beliefs needs not be scientific always , if they comfort a person let it be, as long as it doesn't harm any one More than everything karma plays a major role | ||

Memu home shopping time lo, new constructions lo we had bunch of lots to choose. I skipped all the East, North-East facing lots and picked a West facing lot. My dad is very particular about vaasthu but I said, I picked the lot that makes sense to me. The one I chose has nice curb appeal and at top of the hill to get lot of breeze and sun light. I picked reality over rules. Well, it's been 3+ years in new home. Whatever the effects of vaasthu, real or fictional, would have been worn away after an year. Bottomline, you can believe in vaasthu & be constrained or be free. I pity the people, who don't believe in vaasthu but follow just to have resale value. Good to be on the same side of the line with you for once. I am not suggesting that nothing in Vaasthu ever made sense. Lots of things may have made sense at times. Before the electric bulb was invented, people had to depend a lot on sunlight or smoke emitting source of light. Positioning of doors and windows to make the most of sunlight and get rid of smoke may have been sensible. But I am puzzled when people want to do that in centrally air conditioned houses! Vaastu is a science of construction, keeping the local weather, season , sunlight , wind etc into consideration to make the flow of elements natural why south facing cooking not allowed in India. due to SW breeze it may cause fire accidents, which infact happened in my MOMs case. GOD gave her second life. | ||

I considered my new house purely on my basic knowledge of vaastu it is good points as well as some flaws. trying to use some combo of vaastu remedies , Feng shu and some energy balances, colors and lighting. This is all for my belief, not expecting any magic. I left a very good house , as it has pool on SW (nAIRUTHI) | ||

Doesn't Vaasthu have any jurisdictional limits? I thought it did...otherwise how can we explain the extraordinary progress of UK, USA etc. despite the glaring irregularities in Vaasthu of Buckingham Palace, White house etc.? To top it, they did far better than Indian cities with great weather! London and New York have such terrible weather than in the 19th century when Banking and Stock exchanges started in those cities, people could die simply due to cold weather and lack of effective room heaters! Now, how can Vaasthu expand jurisdiction to the western world? Is it that Indians are always under its control even if they move out of the country? What if an Indian marries a foreigner?
