yes there was a time when that religion was tolerant and actually a beacon of education, tolerance and science we see lot of evidence in the names al-gorithms, al-gebra, al-chemy etc BUT sooner or later there will be literalists who would follow their book literally. Do you blame the people who take it literally or the book ? you can decide.
