yes. Indian politicians and bureaucrats became fans of soviet model of development which turned mostly agriculture based soviet russia into a industrialized nation in a very short span of time. also during freedom fight our politicians were looking help from outside coz us and UK are frnds and US wouldnt help us in getting freedom, so SC Bose wanted to join with Japan, Russia and Germany and attack india go that we can get freedom. which is also a bad idea coz Hitlers germany and Japan only want to help bose to kick out brits and occupy india | ||

most of the IAS and other govt officials had communist and socialist idealogies around the independence timeframe so western countries wouldn't trust india. during first indo pak war both india and pak want to cozy up with US, in a report submitted by DOS,DOS sided with pak not because they like pak but just because most of the governence,policies and planning nehru adopted was in the similar lines of that were developed by Stalin. US decided to help pak and not india which forced us to turn to communist russia to prevent US-china pak domination in Indian ocean. btw this is what read from a secret document made public by US DOS couple years back | ||
