H1 you will need a 6 months valid passport for travel. Also if I-94 will be only until your passport expiration. So you have to get passport before you travel. Next passport renewal is a huge issue with Indian consulate. It depends upon where was the last passport issued, Normal time for passport renewal with embassy is 4-6 weeks if earlier passport is issued in India. It all takes on how soon you get clearance from India, If not it will be huge issue as Consulate have to take a decision whether they can give you 1 or 2 years temporary passport. If it is issued here, it takes 2-3 weeks. For Tatkal you have to take appointment at Embassy and get approval, else you will not get this in Tatkal. Normally emergency cases like health or some death in family or some other issues. However if there is India travel, they might approve. Brucelee- Audio review | ||

no need. i travelled to india and came back to us when my passport was about to expire in 15 days. Passport validity of 6 motnhs is for VISA not for travel. | ||

Do it before you go to India.. Return la i-94 only expiration varake istaadu.. Nuisance.. U have 2 months.. Plenty of time, easy ga vastadi.. Worst case u can go to consulate personally and request cheste thondara vatsadi (closer to ur travel time scenario) | ||
