S_N, I know that there are tools to do this, that is the reason why I am seeking help from DB experts as I have VERY BASIC understanding of Java. R_R While doing Google search (Jai Google Maatha -  , I posted this simultaneously in the DB also. | ||

google refers to http://wixtoolset.org/ but java build ni install cheyyadaniki msi format enduku kavali.. java advanate ade kada.. just build a jar file along with command script or shell script to call java prg.. | ||

Calling Java Experts in the DB for Help. I am not a Java guy, but my client came to me asking for help with the following. I told them it is beyond my expertise, but wanted to see if any Java experts here can tell me how easy the solution is (or) if it is a long and complicated process: "We are looking for your expertise and or a software solution that is capable of developing and building an installation package using a file format of MSI or EXE to install on client desktop application. The solution we seek would take our executable Java Archive (its file format known as JAR containing the Java classes and libraries) and combine those with external libraries into a Windows Installer package file known as MSI or executable (EXE) installation package. This would install to the Desktop and Start Menu icon, on any workstation running the Windows 7 operating system on both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms." If I can provide a solution, I MIGHT LOOK like a HERO, ofcourse credit goes to the DB experts. BTW, I am not on hook to solve this, just curious. Thanks in advance. |
