For me he is a facist who I idolised in my youth. He was instrumental in killing quite a few doctors, layers and engineers who wanted to contest the assembly elections because of their independent thinking and played a major role in killing democracy in kashmir to install London based Abdullaha family on Kashmir people. Nominations vesina chala mandhi youth( Lawyers,engineers doctors) dissapeared during the late 80's elections.. TDP for life. Nationalism does nothing but teach you to hate people you never met and to take pride in accomplishments you had not part in. | ||

General K. V. Krishna Rao was born on July 16, 1923. He is the son of K. S. Narayan Rao and Mrs. K. Lakshmi Rao of Vijayawada. He is married to K. Radha Rao and has one son, Narayan and one daughter, Lalitha. General K. V. Krishna Rao was commissioned into the Indian Army on August 9, 1942. As a young Officer, he served in Burma, North West Frontier and Baluchistan during the Second World War. Gen. Rao was commissioned into the Indian Army in 1942.He participated in the first war against Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir, 1947-48. During the 1971 war, his division captured the Sylhet area and liberated north-east Bangladesh. He retired as Chief of the Army Staff in 1983 and was appointed Governor of Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura in June 1984, leaving all of these posts by the time of his transfer to Kashmir in 1990. He was awarded the Param Vishist Seva Medal (the Award for distinguished services of the most exceptional order) for displaying outstanding leadership, courage, determination and drive during this War. He was then sent to the Western Sector, where he served as Chief of Staff, Western Command during 1972-74, during which period disengagement with Pakistani troops was carried out and fresh plans were made against likely adventures by Pakistan. General Krishna Rao was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir during 1989-90. When a Proxy War developed in Jammu and Kashmir and reached its peak, he was reappointed as Governor and served there from March 12, 1993 to May 1, 1998. In this capacity, he was instrumental in restoring peace and democracy in the insurgency-riven State after a long gap of seven years. An outstanding Telugu personality who proudly served Mother India. Should be an inspiration.  !ntfi |
