i had a 4.4 and a 3.0 both new, as long as the warranty lasted they were good, once done with the warranty i used to taken them to a certified bmw repair man, who set up his own shop now, he was and is very very good, he did mention problems with the 4.4 and warned me to get rid off it once he started seeing a pattern, i traded it in took the 3.0 since he himself suggested the 3.0 was a better option, once i traded in the 4.4 the dealership sold it to a buyer out of denver, the car seized up and broke down during transit, the dealership had to write it off and take a loss, the 3.0 served great , again once the warranty was done, phil the repair guy again suggested to get rid off it since there was a new problem coming up which was unique to that year's 3.0 model, based on past experience i got rid off it and got a 550i this time like i said i have been a bmw fan and still am, the driving and ride experience is simply awesome, but having said that the x5s aren't very family friendly ( purely my personal experience), the mdx has been working out very well, hardly any maintenance and runs and runs like a bull without any issues, the drive is different doesn't drive like a bmw beast but to haul the kids around, it works out ok my suggestion was purely based on the thread initiator's basic need of driving the kids and family around, not comparing x5s to mdx | ||

BMW maintenece was the best, first of all 4yrs/50 miles warranty ncluding servce is awesome, not even MDX or any other bonda does this second if you are out of warranty had problem don't go to dealer, instead you need to have little knowledge aobut the cars and their general problems, if you buy parts on your own and do it with local mechanic maintenance is same like low end cars, do not compare MDX with X5's | ||

totally agreed with you, mdx is the best value option in the 7 seater suv segment, very low maintenance and highly reliable, had two x5s in the past, has cool looks but maintenance was a beast, a few of my friends own the ranger rover, very classy, but again not viable for a 7 seater, if it is purely for shuttling the kids around and utility for the family, hands down mdx wins | ||

try range rover sport..it has optional 3 rd row but it cannot accommodate any luggage when you use 3rd row...but features emi kothavi lev.. MDX nachaledha ...for some reason I find fully loaded MDX the most coolest 7 seater, bayata nunchi chusthe..it doesn't look big but it is. 3 rd open chesaka kuda I am able to fit good amount of luggage, 22 avg mileage, xtra wide screen enetertainment system, 9 speed xmission..and maintenance is lot cheaper than audi,bmw | ||

I know 7 seats options in SUV are less and not practical but planning to go with it instead of going with mini van Mini van iche advantages miss avutaam kaani but still inclining towards 7 seater suv suggestions pls.. except Acura MDX.. for some reason i don't like Acura Don't say you don't have enough time.
