According to 14th amendment resident aliens can not be denied constitutional rights (except for right to vote and represent). However, some states refuse to give concealed carry weapon permits to permanent resident aliens, making it available only for citizens. KY used to be one of those states, until they lost a case in court. Looks like OK still does not give a CCW permit to permanent resident aliens. FL is ok with giving CCW to even non-residents of that state. NC did not give out permits to permanent residents until recently. NC lost a case in April 2015. Wake county (near RTP) is already giving permits to permanent resident aliens living in Wake County. Mecklenburg County(Charlotte) has not caught up yet. They still insist on US citizenship, in order to issue a Concealed Carry Weapons permit. Ento assal artham kaavu veella contradicting laws.
