The police claim he planned the conspiracy, getting hawala money to fund it, harboured Pakistani terrorists, assembled bombs and planted them. 3) Ehteshaam Siddiqui He has been charged with harbouring Pakistanis, surveying trains, assembling the bombs and planting the bomb that went off at Mira Road-Bhayander. 4) Naveed Hussain Planted the bomb which exploded at Bandra station. 5) Asif Khan alias Junaid Key conspirator Junaid housed Pakistani terrorists at his Mira Road residence. Procured rexine bags, utensils, ammonium nitrate, detonators and also assembled bombs. Planted bomb at Borivali station. Role played by those who were awarded life sentences: 6) Tanvir Ansari Having a degree in Unani medicine, Tanvir is believed to have helped in assembling the bombs. 7) Majid Mohammed Shafi Helped Pakistani terrorists Sabir, Abu Bakr, Kasam Ali, Abu Hasan cross into India through Indo-Bangladesh border. 8) Shaikh Alam He surveyed local trains to plan the blasts and helped in assembling the bombs at his house in Govandi with the help of some Pakistanis who had sneaked into India. 9) Mohammad Sajid Ansari Procured timer electric circuitry and other devices for 7/11. Housed Pakistani terrorists Aslam and Haifzulla. The police claim that his technical knowhow was used in the entire conspiracy and he had helped in the procurement of timers for the bombs. 10) Muzammil Shaikh Surveyed local trains to plan the blasts. 11) Ansari, Sohail Shaikh Received hawala money from absconding accused, Rizwan Dhaware for the exeucution of the blasts. 12) Zameer Shaikh Surveyed local trains and helped assemble the bombs. The chargesheet filed by Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) in November 2006 had named 30 accused, out of which 17 are still absconding. i think these sentences will not be any deterrent, they might be for few cases but for extreme crimes they will never act as deterrent to future conspirators. For these Only Prevention is better!
