It definitely needs to change but make it non-ideological and not left or right wing leaning. One aspect which i do feel strongly about is that our history books do not touch upon non-North Indian rulers. The entire Vijayanagara empire was covered in a paragraph probably, in my ICSE history text book. And some other dynasties liek Rashtrakuta do not even get a mention. Because NCERT and ICSE/ CBSE were based in Delhi and largely filled with North Indian writers, they tended to ignore the history of the South. Just like the English news channels nowadays. One death in Delhi is probably equal to 20 deaths in Hyderabad or Bangalore. Bstrds. | ||
