other startling information in the documentary..60%+ of fish caught are bi-kill..meaning non eatable fish/shark etc..only 30% we use for food..rest of them r just caught, by the time eatable fish is seperated, all those die.. also water required for animal husbandry esp cattle...wow..some 4-5times more than human usage.. basically the documentary targets primarily USA,other western nations, southamerican and other extreme meat consuming nations.. but effect is world wide.. | ||

This is a more valid argument for asking people to reduce meat consumption than animal cruelty etc etc. The calories and water needed to produce one kg of red meat is the highest but a bit a lower for pork and chicken but still vastly more than eating grains per se. In fact if the whole of India starts eating non-veg or even if the current non-veg eaters increase their meat consumption (as we eat only 1-2 times a week), there will be a global famine. | ||
