All the best brother. Ee home nadipey madam eats the same food as kids and sleeps in the same home in a room with few kids. Ippatiki kooda they put up their own money if they have funds shortage. Ee saari trip lo maa papa bday ki we wanted to do something to kids. Daggarlo maa parents ki telisina oka ashramam lo kids ki one day food sponsor chesamu. Name of the ashram is Om Sai Sevashram. https://omsaisevashram.wordpress.com/ The purpose of the ashram when it was started was to help adults who needed some help. But, the lady who started it found 3 kids and couldn't refuse them. Slow ga the ashram now hosts ~50 adults and 35-40 kids. The kids were very well behaved and provided shelter and proper nutritious food and are also being sent to school for education. Pedhha pillalu are taking up leadership roles to guide the little ones - in all aspects. All kids are good students as well. These kids told us that we can't give "cream" on cake to some kids as they are allergic etc. I was really impressed how they organized the entire group  Food kooda neat ga prepare chestunnaru with some adult residents helping out in food preparation and preparing kids for school etc. I talked to the lady who runs the ashram. Okkokka kid ki ~30K avuthundhi ata per annum - food, school fees, dresses, books etc. There are quite a few donors who keep sending money, but she wants to have a corpus fund and also some predictability in funds so they can plan to make proper care for all residents there. I noticed that these kids are in a crammed space and asked her if they had plans to expand it. They have plans to build another floor so kids can get proper space and accept more kids and also teach them discipline in cleaning their space, build leadership skills etc. Rough estimate to do this is 15 lakhs annaaru. Aaavida anadam, if anyone interested to help can send 500 Rupees per month, that will help them plan better and provide better facilities/food/clothes/medicines etc. I intend to do this and just sharing this with everyone here so whoever interested can join as well. |
