#WhenIMetMyFavouriteHeroNagarjuna# Year 2001: Those were the early days of Internet in India with no Facebook, no WhatsApp, no twitter, no social media, no online ticket booking, no exclusive movie websites except Idlebrain.com, Telugucinema.com and thatstelugu.com. Like many Telugu movie lovers in the world of IT, I too switched over my habit of reading the movie news from spot reading at newsstands/book stalls to internet browsing. Idlebrain.com, the Pioneer Portal in Tollywood took one step ahead of the time by launching the IBDB (Idlebrain Discussion Board) for tech savy movie lovers to engage themselves in talking, eating, drinking and breathing movies all the time from any corner of the world. Those days every town of AP used to have a Adda, where all hero fans used to gather and discuss the flash movie news and Boxoffice collections. RTC X Roads in Hyderabad was the main center where all heroes fans association presidents and their close associates used to gather at RTC X Roads. After office hours, I used to pay regular visit RTC X Roads to join Nagfans group. News, Mobile and Internet is a lethal combination. After gathering news from RTC X Roads, first thing I used to do is to report the movie talk and collections trend to JeevI and open thread in IBDB on Boxoffice collections & records. To engage the fans more into web world, Idlebrain started Open Letter section to bridge the gap between fans and their Hero’s using web technology. Mine was the third letter to get published (http://www.idlebrain.com/community/openletters/nag-raju.html) and surprisingly it was the first letter to get immediate response from none other than my Shiva/Geetanjali Prakash/Greekuverudu/Annamayya – the one and only NAG. In those days meeting, greeting, clicking a snap with a movie celebrity was memory to hang on wall of fame for life time. And that too getting a call and invite from a favourite Celluloid Celebrity was like Bhagya Lakshmi Bumper Lottery. That was what I felt exactly. Though there were no cloud technologies at that time. I was on Cloud 9 when I met my fav hero Nagarjuna Akkineni (http://www.idlebrain.com/community/openletters/nag-raju-meet .html) and interacted with him for more than 2 hours on Feb 15th 2002. Rest is the history (nagfans.com ) that will be cherished & relished forever. Thanks to Jeevi@Idlebrain.com and IBDB (Idlebrain Discussion Board) for making my dream true. With the release of Narasimha Naidu, Kushi and Indra, the War of Words started in IBDB Crossing Line of Controls with (s)Words was a regular battle fare in IBDB beating the Nostradamus prophecy on the world war #3. Megafans, Nandamuri fans, Superstar fans and Nagfans were engaged in Wor(d)s for hours crossing (s)Words for the supremacy in virtual battle field. Admins & Moderators had tough time in implementing cease fire across the line of control by deleting threads, posts and ban on users. Time had come for separate Discussion Boards movement leading to the dedicated discussion board for each Hero fans to satisfy their ego and bang self dabba. Over a period of time they lost the kick and charm as these Single Clan/Hero Discussion Boards are strictly one way like our news channels. Luckily BTDB and CCDB are the two more discussion boards, which are still maintained and survived in the era of facebook and social media for its charm in maintaining the traditional age old common battle field…..but more on politics rather than movies as the passion of those frenzy fans bent towards politics with changing time…..off course the factor of age & gauge matters. In this 15years of journey made many friends and learned a lot about the Great Indian Cinema and Politics. For many of us both movies and politics are two eyes.
