Amaravathi thammud You are right...but naa mortgage 2500 lo set cheyali in ASHBURN ante have to go for a 1800 SQFt Townhome ki povali and naa lekka lo TOWNHOME ante just STAIRCASES anthe!! Inka cheppali ante oka TOWNHOME lo only Proper place is that MIDDLE LEVEL which has living room and KITCHEN....remaining all just MATCH BOXES with a lot of STAIRs to go UP and DOWN! I want a SINGLE FAMILY annatto...so moved out of NoVA! | ||

Rent/mortgage, state tax (zero unte tappa), day to day commute... rest all peanuts... Gas, grocery etc etc anni very small impact Cable utilities etc anni almost same for desi crowded places | ||

Chinna town lo vunnappudu 3600sqyds home kavali.. pedda city lo vunnappudu kuda same ante elaa... u have to adjust for 2500sqyd house kadha... ultimately house size same maintain cheyyali ani rule em ledhu kadha in US all states where ever u move  stick to ur mortgage monthly payment amt, say 2500... and aa rate lone ekkadiki ellina teeskunte saripothundhi | ||

Thanks guys...and Chillarodu, yes I think major contributor is Housing for example: I used to rent a 1200 SqFT Apartment in ASHBURN VA for $1750 in 2013 and when I moved to CARY, NC I got exact same size apt for a rent of $1200... I was looking out for a Single Family in ASHBURN VA and a 3200 SQFt was costing like 600K+ and when I moved to CARY NC bought it for 390K!! So, housing plays a major role...for example had I got in VA I would be paying $3600 mortgage where as in CARY I pay $2300...so a difference of $20000 in GROSS Salary I guess!! | ||

naaku thelisi cost of living lo difference ante major chuck goes to house (mortgage or rent). Rest all doesn't make much difference. Other factor is State tax and sales tax. | ||

Quick question to All... What is the best Salary Calculator which takes all the factors into consideration and gives comparable salaries between different cities/regions? I was going through below: http://swz.salary.com/costoflivingwizard/layoutscripts/coll_ start.aspx This one based on cost of living says how much I need to earn in Place B Vs Place A... When I look at it I see RALEIGH, CHARLOTTE, TAMPA, AUSTIN etc are similar and Northern VA, BALTIMORE, BOSTON etc are very very expensive places to live! Now the question is...say one makes 125K in NoVA...can he be happy with 90K in say AUSTIN TX? Are we missing some calculation? Also, is HOUSING the major contributor in these differences in Cost of Living? |
