10% rupee depreciation..even after considering that, there is an effective 50% decline in brent price. US lo same period lo gas prices have declined by 25%. I am not saying that petrol needs to go to Rs36 as the costs of refining that do not necessarily go down. But the ideal price should be around 50-55. | ||

Redbull - I never comment on individual stocks, but my take on the Indian market is that it has been overpriced without any ground level change or big moves in policy making etc...bad monsoon, poor policy making by the govt., sub par earnings of corporates in the last quarter, Moody's downgrade on growth to 7% etc. But I will not be too pessimistic, with China turning sour for the international funds, Indian is the only big market that will give them hope for the near future. Though near term is going to be painful, medium term outlook will be good for India...but that requires the NDA govt. to moves its ass a bit. Indian markets despite going nowhere during the year are among the better performing markets this year. Invest in India for a 10-15 year outlook and one can't go wrong. For instance, | ||

High excise and sales taxes, increased profits for OMCs etc...instead of asking the RBI to cut their interest rates, the govt. would be better off cutting petrol prices, thereby driving inflation lower and pushing for a rate cut. | ||
